Lino Vázquez - MEX

Lino is one of our students who, like many others, has a story to tell. In his case, he was repatriated in 2024 and arrived at Casa del Migrante en Tijuana A.C., where he received primary care and later gained access to our complementary services, including the educational programs offered through CESFOM. With our support, Lino was able to take exams through INEA and obtain his basic education certificates. At the same time, he enrolled in both the Office Software and Electricity courses. In this video, he shares a bit about his experience and personal journey.

Narciso Webster - NIC

Lewis is a student from Nicaragua and a member of the indigenous Misquito community. He fled his region due to ongoing violence and arrived in our city after traveling through several parts of the country in search of better opportunities. During his stay, he found refuge at Casa de Oración del Migrante, one of the many shelters in the city. It was there that he first heard about us during one of our outreach visits. From that moment on, Lewis became actively involved in our programs, participating in computer literacy, welding, and electricity courses.

The students speak!

I wholeheartedly thank CESFOM for the support it offers to people like me, migrants who arrive in an unfamiliar place after leaving our countries behind. Thank you for the beautiful way you guide and empower us to grow and improve every day. I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to join the welding course, something I was often told wasn’t meant for women. But it was something I truly wanted to learn, because we come into this world to explore, to discover as much as we can, to learn a little of everything, and to continue growing. A thousand thanks to CESFOM for this wonderful opportunity and unforgettable experience.

I was truly fascinated, my expectations for the course were high, and they were exceeded. I learned so much. I had no idea that installing electrical systems required such specific knowledge, and here I was able to acquire it. What stood out the most was how our instructor constantly encouraged us to look toward the future, not just to keep what we learned to ourselves, but to put it into practice and use it to help others. That’s something CESFOM has always strongly instilled in us: the importance of gratitude and of sharing what we’ve learned with others.

I’m very grateful to CESFOM for giving us migrants the opportunity to learn something new. At CESFOM, we gain knowledge in many areas, but what stands out the most is their generosity. We always feel welcome. Thanks to this space, I’ve acquired skills in office software, barbering, and more skills I now use in my daily life. May God bless the entire CESFOM team.
